[Oscar-devel] Do we need to fork apitest? (is official apitest project dead?)

Hi,

Next oscar release will use apitest testing mechanisms for its selftest procedures. This apitest tool is a fantastic tool that ease a lot testing procedures and that permit easy dependancies checking.

Unfortunately, this tool seems discontinued despite it is almost 100% finished.

Current oscar devel branch has a fixed version (V1.0.2) with 2 small fixes.

We only have a tarball in OSCAR download area that has the two fixes. Some problem remains:
- there is the ascii decode problem to fix.
- there are obsolescence warning to fix
- there are bugs in the http daemon mode
(no apitest showstopper problem to release oscar though).

Main question is: does anybody know if there is a public svn/git/cvs repo of apitest and if yes, who is maintaining it?

A last ressort could be to add the apitest source in pkgsrc/apitest/{trunk,tags} so we can fix and update it (sort of fork eventhough I dislike doing that without knowing it the official project is discontinued or not)...

apitest is really a good project that saves a lot of work regarding self-testing, unfortunately, there are a few glitches remaining and no apparent way to fix them upstream...

Best regards,

Olivier.
